The Bleeding Edge: "Twiggy" by Body Talking

Pose Fair 2011 opens this Friday, and Body Talking has some amazing offerings for both men and women:  "Mikey" and "Twiggy!"  For more info on "Mikey," check out my previous Bleeding Edge post here on the Shiny Angel Couture blog.  "Twiggy" is a collection of 20 poses...10 unique poses, each featuring a mirrored counterpart.  The poses are especially well suited to ladies carrying a clutch or purse (neither of which works for me), so I decided to go into cuteness overload for this shoot.  Rather than a purse, I walked around the house carrying an adorable Domo plushie that I got from SweetTooth via the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser.  Also featured is some sweet hair from 3636 (my new fav hair) and a cute little outfit from Misera, both a part of the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser as well!

TEST 003: "Style That!" by Finesmith Designs

The second weekly Style That! competition was held at Finesmith Designs today, and competition was fierce!  I think I'm starting to get used to losing, wish is a necessary evil in the modeling world.  Congratulations to Catlyn Sahara for winning today's challenge and moving on to the finals in May!  Below is my *losing* styling.  Yula teased me, saying "I didn't know the item was Desert Winds!"  Admittedly I got a bit carried away and the intended focus of the outfit was a bit lost, but I still stand by my overall look.  =)

Seen On The Scene: "April Inspiration Casting" by Finesmith Designs

I have no idea how Yula and her panel of judges do it...there were soooo many AMAZING models on the runway today, each with a very different interpretation of Yula's creations.  My personal favorite was Rusalka.  She quite literally took my breath away as she OWNED the runway.  In the end, five models were selected to join me and the rest of the March Inspiration models in a show at the end of the month.  Joining us will be Aliyeh Yifu, Jamee Sandalwood, Melanie Sautereau, Rusalka Callisto, and Shena Neox.  I tried my best to get pictures of each member of the April Inspiration cast, but some of them were stubborn and just WOULD NOT bake for me.  However, I was able to get a good shot of 3 of the 5, as well as a couple of shots of the audience:

TEST 002: "Style That!" by Finesmith Designs

The first Style That! competition was held by Finesmith Designs today, and it was a BLAST!  At 9AM SLT sharp an item was made available to members of the Finesmith Designs group in Second Life.  Contestants then had approximately 2 hours to make it back to the stage with a fully styled outfit.  One thing I love about this contest is how accessible it is...ANYONE can participate, no modeling skills required!  Contestants are judged on their ability to think outside of the box and create a unique styling, NOT on their ability to walk a runway or pose.  I didn't win this week (gratz to Anigma Eulenberg), but I did have a lot of fun, and came up with a very different look for me that I probably never would have been inspired to create otherwise.  Style That! is a weekly challenge, with each week's winner going on to compete in the finals on May 31!  See you at the next competition...I play to win!  *giggles*

Seen On The Scene: "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" by Finesmith Designs

Yet another fabulous show, as if I've come to expect anything less from an event showcasing Finesmith Designs.  "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" highlighted the unique color change scripts included in nearly all jewelry from Finesmith Designs, featuring pieces in a myriad of spring colors.  Yula sat next to me and fed me spinach dip with celery and PB&J sandwiches as we watched the models, so I was pretty much in heaven, hahaha.  Check out the pics below!

Soon to be released in the Body Talking store, I bring you "Mikey"...a fun collection of poses excellent for runway or print.  I think pose #4 is my new personal favorite pose, hahaha.  As always, all Body Talking fatpacks come with an X-Poser compatible version, so you can go poseball free with your X-Poser system from Essential Soul!

Seen On The Scene: "Foggiare" by Outrageous Glamour

I try not to take too many photographs of the same person (so that everyone has a chance to be seen), but Rissa was absolutely stunning today, so I just had to include 2 photos of her.  House of Europe has some amazing offerings for both men and women (I wore the outfit Matteo is modeling below), and jewelry from Finesmith Designs is always perfect in every way.  Enjoy!

The Bleeding Edge: "February Inspiration" by Finesmith Designs

So last month I got crazy and decided to style a unique look for each of the January Inspiration designs.  I had sooo much fun, and it really stretched my skills as a model and photographer.  Unfortunately, however, in my rush to get the photos out as soon as possible I ended up being unhappy with a couple of the finished products, which I later redid.  It was mostly just sloppy green screen editing from a photography noob, but I've learned my lesson.  Rather than throwing something together just to get it out there before the other bloggers, I plan on taking my time and trying out new Photoshop techniques.  Below is the first of the five February Inspiration sets, inspired by caoimhe Lionheart.  I'll post the others as I complete them, so check back often for updates!

"Inspired by caiomhe"

This set was the first one to jump out at me from the invitation to the February Inspiration show...it just looked like fireworks shooting out of caiomhe's body!  I especially love the face mask, and plan on wearing it pretty much every where I go for the next month or so.  =P  For this photo I practiced adding light sources in Photoshop, making the fireworks cast a soft, colorful glow on my body.

"Inspired by Draakje"

This set reminds me of icicles, so I immediately decided to create a frost angel styling for this photo.  I had to shoot this against a backdrop in-world because of the extreme intricacy of the textures (I learned my lesson from last month's jewelry), but I still got lots of good practice in Photoshop using the liquify tool to smooth edges and make the body look more natural than Second Life allows.  =P

This one was just fun to style, hahaha.  In the words of Katy Perry, "let me see your peacock!"  =P

"Inspired by Harsch"

Creepy, yet fierce, hahaha.  This one gave me TONS of practice with layers, merging bits and pieces from various images, and editing hue/saturation/lightness.

"Inspired by Saleena"

The shape of Saleena's Inspiration set reminds me of a clamshell, so I went all "Birth of Venus" with this shot.  Don't look too closely at the background or you'll see where I did my best clone brushing Venus out of the pic, hehehe.
