Seen On The Scene: "Styling Challenge #3" by Mister Virtual World

Our third styling challenge for the Mr. Virtual World competition was today, and we heated up the runway with our sexiest swimwear!  I was able to grab some snapshots of a couple of the Misters backstage before the show started, and I must admit...they all look quite yummy!  =P

Seen On The Scene: "Styling Challenge #2" by Mister Virtual World

Our second styling challenge for Mr. Virtual World was today, and it was right up my alley...avant garde!  =D  I definitely feel like I had an edge today, but the other Misters brought it, and it was a great show!  I can't wait for the finals on July 16!!!

Seen On The Scene: "Dolce & Gabbana" by Mr. Virtual World

Today was our first styling challenge for Mr. Virtual World...a Dolce & Gabbana themed runway show! I must admit, everyone looked absolutely stunning in their D&G inspired outfits.  I also had my interview with the judges this morning, which was one of the most pleasant experiences of my Second Life to date.  Words can not express how much I admire Frolic for his honest criticism, tempered with praise where it's due.  Kay is a total sweetheart, Edi is hilarious, BlackBarbie is a paragon of patience, and Persia (who I had the pleasure of meeting for the first time today) is positively eloquent (as one would expect from the Copy Editor of the BOSL).  I can't wait to see what's in store for me as the competition continues!

The Road To MVW: Audition

So I didn't make it into the first round of auditions, but I'm so happy for a couple of my very dear friends who were selected as Mister Virtual World finalists...gratz to Brendan Macarthur, Daniele Eberhardt, and Matteo Bettencourt!  For my first application, I kind of sold out and went very plain, very boy next door, very much NOT me.  For my second application, I figured "screw it," and did what I do best...avant garde with a fantasy flair.  Apparently it worked, because I made it in to the second round of castings, which was today.  I'm not sure what the results will be, but I had a blast styling the outfit below for my audition.  Wish me luck!

UPDATE:  I'M INNNNNNNNNN!!!  YOU'RE LOOKING AT MR. ISRAEL 2011!

The Road To MVW: Application

A week ago today Frolic Mills sent out the first notice for Mr. Virtual World 2011...an all call for headshots from potential MVW candidates.  To me, MVW is the competition to end all male modeling competitions, and it would be such an honor to be chosen to compete as a finalist this year.  My avi has a very unique, boyish look, which may work for me or against me...I'm not really sure.  I guess we'll see!  My headshot was done by the lovely and talented Talyia Tarber, featuring one of the suits from last week's Claim The Fame.  Wish me luck!

The Bleeding Edge: "Caliente" & "Imperial" by Champagne, "Irish Eyes" & "Blue Victory" by Garded Secret

Sorry I'm a bit late with these posts, but MVW Modeling Academy graduation was this weekend, and it owned my soul for 3 days straight, lol.  Class with Frolic Mills was a blast though, and I graduated!  However, I digress...back to Champagne and Garded Secret.  I have several favorite designers in SL, each specializing in a different area.  yula Finesmith is my favorite jewelry designer, Arisia Ashmoot is my favorite pose designer, and dianny3636 Aeon is my favorite hair designer.  Fortunately for me, my favorite cosmetics and clothes designers have teamed up to release products that compliment each other perfectly.  YAY for Talyia Tarber and Enzo Champagne!  Below are two of the latest coordinated releases for men:  "Caliente" by Champagne paired with "Irish Eyes" by Garded Secret,  and "Imperial" by Champagne paired with "Blue Victory" by Garded Secret.  Enjoy!

MVW: Modeling 102

Let me start off by saying that all of the instructors and administrators for the MVW Modeling Academy I've had the honor of meeting so far are absolutely AMAZING!  Today's class was with dancer Dallagio...supermodel and spokeswoman for Stiletto Moody.  Class started an hour early, and somehow I didn't get the memo, so I was ubernervous when Giela Delpaso tracked me down 20 mins after class had started to see if I could attend the new time.  I was frazzled for the first 5 mins of class b/c I felt like a douche walking in 20 mins late (even though it wasn't my fault...technically I was 40 mins early), but dancer has the most calming and soothing personality, and quickly put me at ease.  Today we discussed principles of styling and finding that spark that sets you apart from all the Barbie and Ken lookalike models out there.  We also discussed runway posing much more in depth, and dancer answered pretty much all of the questions that I had regarding the topic.  Class lasted for 2 1/2 hours, but the time FLEW by!  I literally felt like I had only been there for 30 mins or so.  We also had the pleasure of meeting Giela in person today...a paragon of grace and beauty.  Below is a snapshot of dancer that I took during her lecture.  Take care!

MVW: Modeling 101

I had originally planned on attending the MVW Modeling Academy AFTER I graduated from GLANCE, but I got impatient and started my training this month.  I had my 101 class with Wicca Merlin today, and had a BLAST!  There are 12 people in our class, and I can already tell that some of them will be my future BFFs.  =)  Today's topic was walking a straight line, which I was uber nervous about with the lag factor, but I think all 12 of us did an excellent job of rocking it out!  We started walking a .5m balance beam, then moved on to a .15m beam.  We practiced several different kinds of turns, and had a lot of fun!  Runway was the #1 thing I was worried about coming into the modeling scene, so I feel soooo much better about life right now.  =)  WOO!!!
